Convo Video Relay Service Available via Access to Work

We’re pleased to share information about Convo, a Video Relay Service (VRS) that supports British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation for Deaf BSL users in the workplace.

What is Convo?

Convo is a video relay service that enables Deaf BSL users to communicate with hearing colleagues, customers, and services via a qualified BSL interpreter. The service can support day-to-day work communication such as phone calls, meetings, and interactions that would otherwise be inaccessible.

Convo and Access to Work

Convo is available through the government’s Access to Work scheme, meaning eligible Deaf employees and self‑employed people may be able to receive funding to cover the cost of the service. This can help remove communication barriers at work and promote equality and independence.
